Here you can see where strong satyrs and ever industrious brownies have cleared paths through the forest so that supplies can be delivered to warrens, cairns, cottages and hollow trees where gnomes and other minions of this wood live.

When such construction is necessary, the inhabitants of the sacred woods are very careful to clear away only the dead wood that might harm the giant tree's future existence. While vines, undergrowth and shrubbery all has its place, some sites are also cleared to grow sacred herbs that might catch a bit of sunlight here and there.

To anyone of the outside world who might happen to come upon some labor-intensive work near the edge of the woods, brownies, satyrs and other dwellers of this ancient forest will appear very normal. They'll look like any employees of some large estate; dressed in work clothes and diligently going about taking care of the land, gardens, cottages and the main castle situated some distance to the north of this location.

It is quite convenient that most of the local farmers and tourists in the area would never consider hiking on land that might belong to a local noble. This is one way that the creatures of the Order have remained hidden for so long.

Another reason for their lack of discovery is the very cynicism of the outside world. Most human beings do not believe in fairies and their ilk. And if one cannot bring him or herself to remotely consider their existence, then any small glimpse of something strange; a winged creature too large to be a dragonfly or the sound of strange, lovely tin whistles being played in the distance, is easily dismissed as imagination.
